2nd October, 2026 - Cairncastle Women’s League: A Musical Evening
The Women’s League is an organisation affiliated with the Non-subscribing Presbyterian Church and The Clare Chorale’s first engagement of the new season, organised by the Cairncastle branch of the Women’s League, was held in the Halfway House Hotel, on the outskirts of Ballygally. Darren Day accompanied and conducted the choir as Sheelagh Greer had a longstanding prior engagement and the audience enjoyed a wide range of music that included many of the choir’s favourite secular and sacred pieces. Supporting the choir during the evening were three very talented pupils from Carrickfergus Grammar School. Jude played the violin and later accompanied his two fellow-pupils, soloists Anna and Emily, as they entertained everyone with some beautiful singing. Compere for the evening was the extremely witty and amusing Rev. Lynda Kane, minister of Cairncastle Non-subscribing Presbyterian Church.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for everyone and a good start to the new season for the choir.
